Inaugural Competition

2026 Messiah Ryder Cup

The regular league season concludes on July 30th.
Our hunt for real glory begins August 6th.
Two Teams. Four Weeks. One Champion.

The Draft & Captains

Our first-year captains are Marty and Jayson.

The official player draft pool selection will take place live on Thursday, July 30th, immediately following the league awards ceremony. Grab a drink, watch the draft boards, and find out whose squad you're fighting for.

The Draft Process: The captains will flip a coin for the first choice. Players will then be selected via a serpentine (snake) draft until both rosters are filled.

Match Selections: Weekly pairings will be set in the same serpentine order. The captain who wins the coin flip will set the first match for Rounds 1 and 3; the runner-up captain sets the first match for Rounds 2 and 4.

Pairing Timeline: Round 1 matchups will be locked in immediately following the draft. Pairings for Rounds 2, 3, and 4 will be selected live in the clubhouse immediately following the conclusion of the previous week's matches.

Conditions of Competition

Because this is a team match-play tournament, attendance is completely mandatory. If you miss a week, your partner or team forfeits those vital points.

If you cannot firmly commit to being on the tee box at 5:15 PM for all four Thursdays, please decline so your spot can go to the next alternate.

Match Play Etiquette: Concessions (gimmies) are allowed and encouraged. A putt is only considered conceded if explicitly stated by your opponent before the ball is struck. No self-gimmies.

Rules & Disputes: Any format alterations or rules questions on the course will be negotiated and determined by Captains Marty and Jayson. If an agreement cannot be reached, Commissioner Jon holds the final, binding call.

Entry Fee: $0. We are playing strictly for bragging rights, leaderboard dominance, and the glory.

The Schedule & Formats

5:15 PM TEE TIMES • ALL WEEKLY MATCHUPS STRATEGICALLY SET BY THE CAPTAINS

Scoring: Every match across all four weeks contributes to the overall team standings. Each individual matchup is worth 1 point for a team win, 0.5 points for a tie (halved), and 0 points for a loss.

AUG 06
2-Man Scramble (Net) Go low right out of the gates. In this format, both partners tee off, select the best shot, and both play from that spot. This process is repeated until the ball is holed. Team handicaps will be calculated using USGA Scramble allowances (35% of the low handicap + 15% of the high handicap), playing hole-by-hole Match Play using your team's net score.
AUG 13
2-Man Best Ball (Net) Trust your partner, play your game. In this format, both partners play their own ball entirely from tee to green on every hole. At the end of each hole, you look at both partners' net scores, and the lowest single score counts as the team's score for that hole. You'll compete in hole-by-hole Match Play to win points for your team.
AUG 20
2-Man Alternate Shot (Net) The ultimate friendship tester. In this format, partners alternate taking shots with the same ball until it is holed out. Player A tees off, Player B hits the second shot, alternating until holed. One partner tees off on odd holes, the other on even holes. Teams will use a combined net handicap (50% of the team's total) competing in hole-by-hole Match Play.
AUG 27
Singles Match Play (Net) The Finale. Straight up, head-to-head. You are playing the competitor directly across from you. Net strokes are awarded off the low handicap in the match (e.g., if a 10-handicap plays a 6-handicap, the 10-handicap gets 1 stroke on the 4 hardest handicap holes). Every individual match is worth 1 point for the team.
